The Process For Obtaining a NSW Driver Licence
Obtaining a driver license in NSW is not always a straight-forward process. This infographic will break down every step so that you can feel more confident as you work towards a full license.
To apply for your learner licence, you need to:
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Pass the Driver Knowledge Test.
- Prove your identity.
- Pass an eyesight test.
- Pay the license and test fees, unless eligible for a concession.
To apply for your P1 license you need to:
- Be at least 17 years old.
- Have held a learner license for a minimum of 12 months (unless you are 25 years or older).
- Have 120 hours of driving time in your Learner Driver Log Book, including 20 hours of night driving (unless you are 25 years or older).
- Prove your identity.
- Pass an eyesight test.
- Pay the license and test fees, unless eligible for a concession.
- Pass the Hazard Perception Test.
- Pass the driving test.
To apply for your P2 license you need to:
- Have held your P1 license for a minimum of 12 months.
- Prove your identity.
- Pay the license and test fees, unless eligible for a concession.
To apply for your full license you need to:
- Have held your P2 license for a minimum of 24 months.
- Prove your identity.
